You may find some differences in opinions, but remember that each person may have a different style of travel they prefer. New Orleans Food Guide (& a few Must-See's)

Image
First, I should probably start off saying that I didn't have huge expectations for NOLA since we went before Mardi Gras. I was pleasantly surprised by all there is to do and see... and EAT! So here are some great food options: Cafe du Monde - They're open 24/7 and have multiple locations. This is the touristy spot to get beignets and coffee so be prepared for a long line. (Tip: don't wear black- thank me and every other person who has said that later) Royal House - We got red beans, shrimp po' boy, and gumbo and all were good. It's also a perfect spot if you're strolling along Bourbon Street around lunch time. Willie Mae’s Scotch House - Fried chicken, enough said. Brennan’s - Known for their banana foster. New Orleans Coffee & Beignet Co. - They have regular, bite-sized, and chocolate beignets... and great coffee options. What can I say, they stick by their name. Elizabeth’s - Very casual and has praline bacon so an obvious must try

NYC Rooftop Bars

Image
I am quite content making mixed drinks or having wine with my friends and having a girls night in, but sometimes I want to get out and see the sights. When I'm traveling, this is almost always the case. I mean... when's the next time I'll be here and have the chance to go to all of these places?! This brings me to the five rooftop bars I checked out in NYC. The Skylark- 200 W 39th St. You will get an amazing view, specialty drinks, and be left alone for the majority of the night. The drinks were good and obviously overpriced, but this is the city and you are right there by Times Square so it is to be expected. If location to the city center is important then go here! The manager was not very friendly, but our server was. They only allow a certain amount of people on the rooftop so try to plan accordingly. (Located in the Garment District)           Upstairs at the Kimberly- 145 East 50th St. This is the "Penthouse of the Kimberly Hotel. It is a total of 3,000

Why to go Shopping in Dublin

Image
Here it is: the many reasons I prefer shopping in Dublin than in NYC. Most people would be shocked to hear that, but it's true. Now, hear me out. You may feel the same after reading this short post. All of these stores are within a half mile of each other. American Apparel Lush H&M Flagship Store Bridal Boutiques (de Stafford bridal and Aspirations Bridal, for examples) Souvenir Shops (Carrolls) Starbucks Patagonia Outlet Laduree  Abercrombie & Fitch (almost as fancy as their London store) Birkenstock The Loft Jewellers Tiffany & Co. Kiehl's MAC Cosmetics Aldo The Body Shop Lacoste Hilfiger Denim Everything from coffee to luxury shopping is located in the city center of Dublin. There is no shortage of restaurants, shopping, and beautiful buildings here. It may seem strange to come to Ireland and make a point to shop your heart out, but I'll admit I never intended to do that. It was just so perfect to get gift

Top 10 Things To Do in Florence

Image
If you are anything like the travel-crazed person I am then you probably try to cram as many attractions in a day or short trip as you possibly can. Honestly, if you're traveling for less than a week and then heading back to your J.O.B. and home that might be the way to do it. For me, though, I prefer to spend time doing a wide variety of things while in a new place. I like to be like a local. I like to be like a tourist. I like to eat. A lot. I like to relax. I like to rush around. So, when I spent four weeks in Florence, Italy, I was able to do a little of all the things I like. That is good news for you because it means I have a pretty thorough idea of the top places to go, things to see, etc. Here they are: 1. Duomo This is top on my list because it is truly breathtaking. Whether you like art, history, views of the city, or cathedrals/basilicas/churches you can find it all right here, at the Duomo. Duomo is Italian for Dome and is a huge part of Cattedrale Santa Maria del

5 Coffee Shops to Try in Florence

Image
Caffè Gilli - this was close to my apartment and I actually bought a friends birthday sweets from their dessert/ candy counter Caffè Gucci - their sugars are in the shape of the Gucci symbol La Posta - for the traveler, this is perfect as it is decorated with postage lingo and stamps Coronas Cafè - it's not very common to see locals get a sweet and savory treat with their coffee, but this is my exception- get whatever you want- it's delicious! Bar Condotta - if your looking for something tucked away a little from Piazza Della Signoria give it a shot

Parisian Bliss

Paris has been a dream of mine for as long as I can remember. I got the chance to travel here with a few of my girlfriends and it certainly lived up to my expectations. Here are some of my must-see, engaging, and favorite parts of my stay. Ahhh, Luxembourg Gardens. One could sit around these grounds all day. Whether you want to have a picnic, watch the tourists, or enjoy the beautiful foliage this is the place to be. My mornings consisted of these views, coffee, and a pastry. When can I move here?? Some of the best and most unique shopping is located here, Place de la Madeleine.  From all over Paris you can see the Eiffel Tower. We didn't even look at a map to get there because we wanted to do a little exploring (some of my favorite travel memories are made this way). Views from the top of the Eiffel Tower. I made it a point to walk the steps as much as I could because when my parents came to Paris years and years ago their only option was to walk. M
